a change is going to come

ok, so I have spent a good portion of this memorial day weekend working on fixing up my new website. I think this is like the third incarnation of it. at least. and it's pretty much final I think. i would really like some feedback if you have any. anyway, my brother is going to be able to host my site for free in about a month, so at that point I will be moving it to a new domain name and everything and you won't have to look at these ads. and my travelogue will hopefully be almost ready so that when I get back from europe I will be able to just post up all of my pictures and commentary for all to enjoy. how exciting!
so, anyway, this weekend has been pretty uneventful for me (maybe not for jeremy cogan and janine though - lol). hopefully I will go surfing tomorrow morning and have some kind of barbecue. but I am glad that I made progress on this site.

jeff dodge and karl strauss

ahh good times. jeff dodge came down to san diego to visit yesterday (and he's still here through saturday I think). so, of course, we go out to karl strauss. well, first we went to the beach house because jeremy gallagher wanted to go to this marshall senior thing, so we all pretended to be marshall seniors and got some free food there first. but I really don't like the beer at the beach house (and neither does most everyone else) so we all trudged over to karl strauss. some more people showed up and we all had lots of fun. sadly, q's favorite bartender was not there. we had lots of laughs reminiscing about the good old days last year when jeff dodge was still here (and so was scott and shane and other people): the "frat" party at their house, when jeff dodge won the free beer at ks, and lots of other times. when I leave san diego (in five weeks!!) I will definitely miss the wednesday nights at karl strauss hanging with friends (and the garlic fries of course).

the countdown continues: in five weeks, I will be moving back to LA. in six weeks, I will be going crazy trying to pack. in seven weeks, I will be in London! in eight weeks, I will be in Florence, Italy. in nine weeks, I will be in the Swiss Alps. in ten weeks, I will be returning home from Europe. in eleven weeks, I will be in Arizona! craziness!

(in other news, apparently when you click on the comments button it says that my site does not allow anonymous (non-blogger users) to post comments. this is not true. you can. so do it anyway.)

What a weekend!

it's been a crazy weekend. the weekend started Friday morning. I decided to take the day off of work (of course!) and went to the sungod festivities with the rest of the ucsd campus. I hung out with lots of different people throughout the day and had lots of fun (not as much as last year, but that's the way it should be anyway. hehe). the concert was, eh, ok. it could've been worse i suppose. I'm not a big fan of busta rhyme, so that is probably the reason. I have lots of pictures to post, and that will probably be done later tonight or tomorrow or something. we'll see. I think the highlight of the day was me and q hiding in mike and cogan's room waiting for something to happen that clearly wasn't. ;-) ohhh goodness.
saturday I slept in and then went to da kine's for lunch with jeralin and q. da kine's is one of the places that I am really going to miss when I move to arizona. I doubt they will have good hawaiian food in the grand canyon state. we'll see. then we went to fashion valley and I bought some makeup and then we saw 'mean girls'. it was actually really funny and not too bad of a movie. I was pleasantly surprised. after that we came back and I hung out with megan for the evening. we got some thin mint ice cream (heaven in a carton) and watched a bunch of my so-called life episodes (I have them all on dvd). we spent the evening drooling over jordan catalano and reminiscing about the show and how much we love jared leto. we watched the pilot episode (really really good beginning to a great season), the "self esteem" episode (the one where angela and jordan make out in the boiler room), the "pressure" episode (when jordan wants to have sex with angela), and then the last episode "in dreams begin responsibilities" (the one where brian writes that amazing letter that angela thinks jordan wrote). sadly, the show was cancelled way before it ever should have been and so we never get to see what happens with them. our favorite quote from the shows last night: "People are always saying you should be yourself, like yourself is this definite thing, like a toaster. Like you know what it is even. But every so often I'll have, like, a moment, where just being myself in my life right where I am is, like, enough."

Last year's Sungod festival. I'm sitting there on the lawn somewhere... Posted by Hello

Making the switch

So I've decided to retire my xanga account and move on to blogger. there are a number of reasons for this, but I won't bother you with all of them. I've been meaning to do it for a while now, but just have been lazy I guess. I really want to be able to set up a good travelogue for my upcoming trip to Europe and I don't want to do it the xanga way because I need more freedom and stuff. also, this way, more people can put comments in and that makes me happy. :) hope this works out!
